(Washington, D.C. May 6, 2014) With over 400 attendees, exhibitors and speakers and the launch of the new Energy Management Association (EMA), the inaugural Cx Energy Conference and Exposition exceeded all its expectations in program content and networking opportunities.
The highly-rated 28-session technical program covered topics ranging from total building envelope commissioning, to building and facility case studies, to changes in ASHRAE and LEED standards. AIA credits were awarded for all sessions. The sessions were all recorded and Cx Energy is planning on-line access and will announce details in the near future.
Cx Energy also featured the formal launch of EMA with a well-attended organizational meeting and workshop and exam for EMA’s Energy Management Professional certification. EMA responds to the growing importance of managing and reducing energy consumption in buildings by creating a commissioning-based system that incorporates field testing and verification and emphasizes the best interests of the building owner.
EMA membership is open to individuals, corporate suppliers of products and services, building owners and facility managers. Its mission is to provide guidelines, training, education and certification programs. The group already has more than 70 member companies including Siemens Industry, Inc., EMA's first Founding Industry Partner.
Cx Energy’s expo hall showcased a wide variety of companies providing leading-edge commissioning and energy management products and services. The exhibitors’ offerings range from software, controls, instruments, and metering devices to consultative services in engineering and enterprise energy management.
