Jack Mc Gowan, CEM will be admitted to the Association of Energy Engineers, International Energy Managers Hall of Fame at a ceremony during the World Energy Engineering Congress on November 14, 2003. Mc Gowan is President of Energy Control Inc. (ECI), and is an internationally known expert on energy efficiency technology and financing of building systems.
Mc Gowan is a graduate of the University of New Mexico where he earned a Master of Arts in Public Administration with a concentration in Energy Management. During a 25 year career in the energy field he has held positions in government and industry. He served as Director of the New Mexico Energy Conservation and Management Division under Governor Bruce King. Mc Gowan has worked for Fortune 500 companies such as Honeywell and Johnson Control Inc. leading to his current position at ECI. ECI offers technology-based solutions to facility owners that are designed to reduce energy and operating costs, while making buildings safe and secure. Energy efficiency, security and fire technology services, combined with the use of Internet-based software that improves business management, are ECI's focus. This year ECI was named to the New Mexico Flying 40 list of fastest growing technology businesses, and to the list of Top 100 System Integrators in North America.
Mc Gowan's is being admitted to the Hall of Fame for his professional contributions including extensive publishing and training activity. He has published 5 books and over 125 articles and technical papers on energy and business issues. He is a Technical Advisory Board Member and writes a column for Energy User News magazine, and is Contributing Editor with the electronic magazine www.Automatedbuildings.com. Mc Gowan recently signed a publishing contract with Fairmont Press for a new book called "Building Automation Online". He teaches professional seminars on line and on ground to international audiences. He serves as a Professor at the University of Phoenix teaching MBA courses and has taught Environmental Controls and Energy Policy classes at the University of New Mexico. The Association of Energy Engineers named him 1997 "International Energy Professional of the Year", and he is listed in Who's Who in Science and Engineering, Millennium edition, Marquis Press.
