San Ramon, CA, November 20th, 2006 – ASI Controls today released the ETH-8540 Ethernet Expansion board for the ASIC/2-8540 configurable controller. The ETH-8540 is a plug in module that provides direct, board-level Ethernet connectivity on an ASIC/2-8540 configurable controller.
“We believe the ETH-8540 Ethernet Expansion board will provide cost-effective connectivity for remotely monitoring and controlling a network of small facilities,” explained Michael Fong, ASI Controls Manager of Technical Services. “The new expansion board can be connected to an existing Ethernet subnet via any standard Ethernet jack. Once networked, a remote user can use a single instance of ASI WebLink front end software to access and monitor all of the sites on the network. They can focus on a specific location to view current conditions, access historical data, graph trends, export CSV data, initiate overrides, and otherwise review and manage conditions at the remote facility.”
The ETH-8540 adds a new, low-cost Ethernet connectivity option for ASI Controls digital control applications, and complements the widely used EtherLink/2 serial-to-Ethernet router, and standard USB-to-Ethernet converters compatible with the ASIC/2-7540’s USB port.
