Eatontown, NJ. October 29, 2012. Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management, and IPKeys Technologies, an expert in Smart Grid communications technology, today announced that they will partner to deliver a fully Automated Demand Response (AutoDR) and Energy Management Information System (EMIS) solution for utilities’ and commercial and industrial (C&I) customers.

Through this solution Schneider Electric and IPKeys Technologies enable the collaborative utility-customer relationship necessary to make Smart Grid a reality.

By integrating IPKeys’ OpenADR 2.0 certified Energy Interop Server & System (EISS™) technologies with Schneider Electric’s Energy Profiler Online™ (EPO), Schneider Electric and IPKeys can provide utilities with a complete, scalable, and secure end-to-end AutoDR and EMIS solution for their C&I customer base. In addition, IPKeys' EISS technology integrates with Schneider Electric’s StruxureWare software at the control level providing commercial and industrial customers of electric utilities with a robust, flexible, and cost effective method of connecting to the Smart Grid and maximizing the demand response potential of their facilities.

Today, Schneider Electric’s EPO provides C&I customers of electric utilities the ability to view energy cost, usage, and emissions data as well as the opportunity to participate in utility curtailment programs. EPO also provides utilities with a demand response curtailment platform allowing them to model, manage, call, and notify customers of demand response events, while tracking event performance.

"The inclusion of IPKeys technology to our EPO offers enables a fully automated and secure demand response solution from the grid to the customer's processes," says Phil Davis, senior manager, smart grid solutions at Schneider Electric. "While fostering the collaborative relationship required for a smart grid, it benefits utilities by allowing them to achieve more reliable and responsive programs while simultaneouslybenefiting end use customers by providing them with greater flexibility and revenue from demand response program participation.”

“We are delighted to announce our agreement to integrate IPKeys’ certified OpenADR 2.0 Server and Facility Endpoint Technology with Schneider Electric’s EPO solutions,” said IPKeys Managing Director & CFO, Robert Nawy. “This new and highly secure technology integration enables utilities to deliver and receive actionable open-standard and machine-interoperable market signals to and from their clients. EPO and EISS permit utilities and utility customers to begin the process of planning, valuing, and automating participation in demand response and price sensitive markets.”

Through this partnership, Schneider Electric and IPKeys illustrate their continued commitment to interoperability and open standards while enabling utilities’ C&I customers to automatically connect to the Smart Grid and enabling them to more easily take advantage of demand response programs.
