Join GridWise Architecture Council at Grid-Interop 2012

Annual Gathering

The sixth annual Grid-Interop conference will gather the industry’s top utility, government, technology and standards leaders to help define the future strategy for Smart Grid technology implementation and interoperability.

In partnership with the GridWise Architecture Council (GWAC), Smart Grid Interoperability Panel (SGIP), the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Grid-Interop will tackle key issues related to utilities’ Smart Grid deployments.

Transition to SGIP 2.0

Included in these discussions will be an in-depth look at the changing Smart Grid community, specifically SGIP’s transition to SGIP 2.0, which is evolving from a federally-funded organization into an industry-funded, public-private entity in January 2013.

Acting as SGIP 2.0’s transition manager, the National Electrical Manufacturers Association’s Paul Molitor said,”Grid-Interop has long played an important role in industry progress, including acting as an annual host to SGIP plenary and governing board meetings since SGIP’s inception. This conference will help us define and shape what’s next -- not only for SGIP 2.0, but also for the Smart Grid industry as a whole. We’re greatly looking forward to broad industry participation.”
