New case study: leading engineering-construction firm improves customer service and reduces administrative overhead with private cloud-hosted enterprise apps

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Nov. 25, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Flowfinity Wireless Inc., a proven provider of enterprise mobile apps, today published a case study describing how LVM, a division of Dessau, transformed its field operations to complete a time-sensitive building inspection project. With the help of Flowfinity professional services, LVM was able to define, create, and launch a custom mobile solution for managing nationwide retail building inspections in only a week.

LVM needed to replace paper forms with a more efficient way to collect and access data in the field. Real-time data collection was essential to prevent project delays and ensure data accuracy. "Given our tight deadline for this project, it just would not have been possible to carry out the inspections using pencil and paper," said Yves Branconier, Service Director, LVM. With the new mobile system, the management team was able to review each building inspection immediately and ensure all the mandatory information was collected.

Building inspectors took advantage of Flowfinity on iPad to work productively offline, gather more accurate data, store hundreds of inspection photos electronically in the inspection forms, and pull up enterprise information such as building plans. Mandatory fields in the iPad forms were used to prevent submission of the inspection report unless all the required data was in the form.

"LVM was looking for a solution that could meet our workflow and data collection requirements, and enable us to deliver the best customer service possible," said Branconier. "Flowfinity helped us create role-based building inspection apps specifically designed for our business processes, and it only took one week to design and deploy the entire solution."

The division selected a Flowfinity private cloud deployment to maintain control over the database and ensure a fast deployment without involving IT resources.
