EnOcean
announces their new ‘Battery-free by EnOcean’ seal for consumer
packaging on self-powered smart switches for lighting. This
packaging logo will allow consumers to immediately identify
battery-free, maintenance-free wireless switches and lighting products
using EnOcean’s energy harvesting sensors for more
environmentally-friendly lighting, LED control, and smart building in
the Internet of Things.
Manufacturers of smart home and smart lighting products will have
access to this logo for packaging, for websites, and for
marketing. Signify (formerly Philips Lighting) will be first on
the market with the logo appearing on their products as of Nov 1.
Lighting using 'Battery-free by EnOcean' utilizes wireless sensor
technology for EnOcean, Bluetooth, and Zigbee-based solutions in the
2.4 GHZ and sub-1 GHz wireless standards, which converts motion, light,
or temperature differences into electrical energy with the help of a
kinetic energy converter.
