PALATINE, Ill. – October 17, 2011 – Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management, today announced the launch of its Building Information Modeling (BIM) HD product models. Leveraging the latest software functionality, Schneider Electric’s BIM HD™ Modeling solution is based on information-rich model-based designs, laying the foundation for more accurate analysis and simulation of designs and projects. BIM HD product models help owners, architects, engineers and contractors to design, construct and operate more efficient buildings – throughout the entire lifecycle of a building.

“As buildings become more intelligent, increasingly integrated solutions and energy efficient technologies are becoming standard and necessary in today’s design and construction,” said Ken Engel, Vice President of Offer Management, Power Business, Schneider Electric. “To ensure these technologies integrate as successfully as possible into facilities, it is crucial to use innovative building information modeling to create a computer simulation to virtually design, analyze, build and operate a potential building – eliminating problems and obstacles before construction.”

BIM HD product models from Schneider Electric enable the virtual design with fully parametric and optimized models, which feature flexible dimensions able to adjust intelligently to meet selection requirements, as well as efficient and light-weight file sizes which are able to adjust between early building design and construction. The software inherent in the BIM HD product models also provides integrated metadata which provides key information, values and links for improved performance, as well as collision detection for both ‘hard’ equipment collisions, as well as “soft” code collisions.

Schneider Electric’s BIM HD product models are built in native AutodeskŪ RevitŪ MEP format to leverage the software’s intelligent functionality and can be downloaded from Schneider Electric’s BIM HD library: http://products.schneider-electric.us/products-services/products/bim-hd/.
