PHOENIX – October 1, 2012 – Climatec Building Technologies Group (Climatec) is pleased to announce the use of its Axcess platform for the Bullitt Center in Seattle; promoted as “the greenest commercial building in the world.”
Climatec has established a unique enterprise building automation
platform for systems integration, supervisory controls and monitoring
that will be installed in the new six-story, 50,000 SF building located
in the Central District in Seattle, Washington. One of the most
ambitious aspects of the Bullitt Center will be achieving the goals of
the “Living Building Challenge”. To be certified as a “Living
Building,” a structure is required to be self-sufficient for energy and
water for at least 12 continuous months.
This building will change the way buildings are designed, built and
operated to improve long-term environmental performance and promote
broader implementation of energy efficiency, renewable energy and other
green technologies.
Once completed, the Axcess system will provide energy, sustainability
and net zero status and education using advanced visualization,
dashboards, and animation. Additionally, Axcess will allow building
operations teams to conduct “deep dives” into the building’s
performance, including Fault Detection and Diagnostics, to alert
stakeholders early to deviations from expected building performance.

building operations through analytics in addition to energy dashboards,
it became clear that Axcess was our best choice,” said Joseph David,
Sustainability Program Manager at Point32; developer for the building.
“We’re very excited to be involved with such a prestigious project.
Axcess will converge sustainable building design with building
operation,” said Mike Putich, director of advanced technologies for
Climatec.
