Falcon to Share Expertise on how to Protect SCADA Systems Against Costly Power Outages and Ensure Security

IRWINDALE, Calif. – October 28, 2013 – Falcon Electric, Inc., a leader in protecting mission-critical equipment in harsh environments against power problems, announced today that Michael A. Stout, vice president of engineering, will be giving two Attendee Networking Hub Theater presentations on protecting SCADA systems during the ISA Automation Week Technology and Solutions 2013 event in Nashville, TN, November 5-7, 2013. In addition, Falcon will host an "Eat with the Experts" lunch on November 5th from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

In the first speaking session entitled, "Protecting Automated Systems in Harsh Environments," Mr. Stout will discuss how to eliminate costly downtime and weak links related to power problems. The presentation will review how to maximize the availability of AC-based SCADA and PLC-based control, automation and monitoring systems–especially those operating in harsh -30°C to 65°C environments.

During the second presentation, Mr. Stout will discuss how without reliable power, vital operations are unreliable and unsecured. SCADA systems of all kinds are subjected to some of the harshest environments in the world – compromising security and functionality. This presentation will discuss the costly power and security issues for today’s automated systems and how to best plan, select and implement a powr protection infrastructure that can withstand the rigors of harsh environments without sacrificing power quality and uptime.

In his role as vice president of engineering, Mr. Stout brings over  two decades of experience in critical power systems. He is an authority in the computer automation, power conversion and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) industries. In his current position, Mr. Stout specifies and designs new UPSs and critical power system products and evaluates emerging technologies.
