Falcon to Share Expertise on how to Protect SCADA Systems Against Costly Power Outages and Ensure Security
IRWINDALE, Calif. – October 28, 2013 – Falcon Electric, Inc., a leader
in protecting mission-critical equipment in harsh environments against
power problems, announced today that Michael A. Stout, vice president
of engineering, will be giving two Attendee Networking Hub Theater
presentations on protecting SCADA systems during the ISA Automation
Week Technology and Solutions 2013 event in Nashville, TN, November
5-7, 2013. In addition, Falcon will host an "Eat with the Experts"
lunch on November 5th from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
In the first speaking session entitled, "Protecting Automated Systems
in Harsh Environments," Mr. Stout will discuss how to eliminate costly
downtime and weak links related to power problems. The presentation
will review how to maximize the availability of AC-based SCADA and
PLC-based control, automation and monitoring systems–especially those
operating in harsh -30°C to 65°C environments.
Session topic: Protecting Automated Systems in Harsh Environments
Date/Time: Wednesday, November 6th @ 3:10 p.m. to 3:40 p.m.
Place:Theater 1
During the second presentation, Mr. Stout will discuss how without
reliable power, vital operations are unreliable and unsecured. SCADA
systems of all kinds are subjected to some of the harshest environments
in the world – compromising security and functionality. This
presentation will discuss the costly power and security issues for
today’s automated systems and how to best plan, select and implement a
powr protection infrastructure that can withstand the rigors of harsh
environments without sacrificing power quality and uptime.
Session Topic: New Tools & Tips to Ensure SCADA Security
Date/Time: Thursday, November 7th @ 2:35 p.m. to 3:05 p.m.
Place: Theater 2
In his role as vice president of engineering, Mr. Stout brings
over two decades of experience in critical power systems. He is
an authority in the computer automation, power conversion and
uninterruptible power supply (UPS) industries. In his current position,
Mr. Stout specifies and designs new UPSs and critical power system
products and evaluates emerging technologies.
