Introduces 902 MHz frequency to better serve markets worldwide
Brossard, QC/Salt Lake City, UT – October 15, 2014 - Distech Controls, an innovation leader in energy management solutions,
today announced the release of its new 902 MHz frequency radio
technology, further enhancing the company’s Open-to-Wireless™
battery-less solution for building automation.
Distech Controls offers a wide variety of wireless, battery-less
sensors and switches for applications ranging from room temperature and
humidity sensing, to duct and cable temperature sensing, to occupancy
detection. A true green building alternative, Distech Controls’
Open-to-Wireless solution offers many benefits for building management,
from increased flexibility and adaptability, to cost and time reduction
at installation, to improved occupant comfort.
The Open-to-Wireless solution integrates energy harvesting wireless
technology, with upgraded 902 MHz transceivers from EnOcean,
particularly suited for the requirements of the North American market.
The additional frequency offers an increased effective range, robust
performance and enhanced resistance to interference.
“Distech Controls strives to meet and exceed the needs of our
customers. The introduction of the 902 MHz frequency brings building
automation to the next level by further enhancing Open to Wireless’
ability to provide extremely robust, long-range wireless, battery-less
communication,” said Jim French, Vice President Product Development and
Support, Distech Controls. “That way, maintenance-free wireless
automation solutions become state-of-the art technology for both
retrofit projects and large office buildings with flexible office
concepts”.
“Distech Controls is a longstanding member in the EnOcean Alliance and
has realized numerous successful building projects throughout North
America and worldwide,” says Jim O’Callaghan, President of EnOcean Inc.
“It’s a strong signal for the industry to see this comprehensive
partner shaping the future of wireless building automation.”
