The Wiremold Company News
[an error occurred while processing this directive]Cabling
Pathways for Fiber Optic Systems
WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - The Wiremold
Company has developed a family of FiberReadyTM fittings for its wire
and cable management systems that maintain a two-inch cable bend radius. These
fittings meet the bend radius specifications for the broadest range of optical
fiber, as well as twisted pair and coaxial cabling that is commonly installed in
horizontal distribution.
These enhancements to Wiremold wire and cable
management systems include:
- Vertical pivot connectors that attach to the
rungs of SpecMateTM cable tray to provide bend radius protection
for fiber optic and high-performance UTP cabling.
- Perimeter raceway systems ranging from small
Wiremold® 2300 Series nonmetallic raceway and 2400 Series steel raceway to
high-capacity 5400 Series and 5500 Series raceway have been redesigned to
include bend radius protection throughout. Bend radius inserts are available
for upgrading older installed systems.
- The ®Walkerduct Pro Series underfloor duct
system includes cable loop storage in the preset, system-wide bend radius
protection, and space for mounting ST- and SC-type fiber optic connectors.
Walker cellular floor systems have also been modified to include bend radius
protection.
Fiber
Optic Passive Interconnect Components
WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - The Wiremold® Interlink
Cabling System has expanded to include FiberSmart™ Passive Interconnect
Components. This family of components includes:
- STA Series - a complete line of ST®
compatible adapters.
- SCA Series - a complete line of SC compatible
adapters.
- FC style adapters - singlemode FC/PC adapter
is compliant with NTT-FC specifications. The FC/APC adapter is compatible
with Seikoh Giken style connectors.
- CSC Series SC connectors - Available for both
multimode and singlemode applications, the design provides non-optical
disconnect terminations.
- ST connectors - High performance connectors
for multimode and singlemode applications. They meet EIA/TIA and IEC
performance specifications and are intermatable with AT&T ST, STII and
functional equivalents. Also available is a cost-effective ST multimode
polymer ferrule connector.
- ILBR Series in-line low backreflection
attenuator - A new type of low backreflection, male-to-female, inline
attenuator.
These products were formerly manufactured by the
Connectivity Group of Radiant Communications, Inc., which was recently acquired
by The Wiremold Company.
Rack
Mount Fiber Optic Fiber Management
[an error occurred while processing this directive]WEST
HARTFORD, Conn. - The Wiremold® Interlink Cabling System has expanded to
include a full range of rack mount fiber management products. These FiberSmart™
products provide solutions from the building entrance through main and
intermediate cross connects to the telecommunications closet.
- RACK Series can be mounted in 19" or
23" equipment frames. Patch capacities include 12-, 24-, 48-, 72-, 96-
and 144-ports. Openings in top, side (front and rear), back, and bottom for
cable entry.
- RPS (Rack Patch Splice) Series rack-mount
patch/splice center can accommodate up to 44 patch and splice channels.
Separate patch and splice bays have their own door, and the splice bay
incorporates a slide out shelf.
- POP (Point of Presence) Series, a convenient,
cost-effective solution for terminating OSP cable to fiber optic terminal
equipment. This rack mounted patch panel is ideal for building entrance
applications. It can be prewired for singlemode and multimode applications
and accommodates up to 72 patch and splice channels.
- Prewired Pigtail Modules facilitate pigtail
splicing in the main cross-connect (MC) or intermediate cross-connect (IC).
The PPM6 Series provides a protective modular enclosure for six
pre-terminated connectors.
- RS6 Series patch panel adapter strips combine
high performance adapters with a complete line of cable management systems.
The adapter panels are used with Wiremold Interlink Cabling System wall and
rack mount patch panels and rack mount patch and splice bays. RS6 strips are
available with SMA, ST, SC, SC/APC, FC and FC/APC adapters.
- SV432 splice vault is designed for splicing
fiber optic cables in building entrance and Telco central office
environments. This unit provides easy access and protection for high fiber
count applications.
- ERACK termination and splice shelf panels
employ an open shelf design with a hinged/removable front panel. A high
quality alternative to closed shelf units, ERACK is an excellent choice for
low fiber count telecommunication closet applications.
These products were formerly manufactured by the
Connectivity Group of Radiant Communications, Inc., which was recently acquired
by The Wiremold Company.
Cabling
System Adds Fiber Optic Capability
WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - The Wiremold® Interlink
Cabling System offers full fiber optic capability. New additions to this
versatile system include FiberSmart™ passive interconnect components, fiber
management products, and test/termination kits. These products were formerly
manufactured by the Connectivity Group of Radiant Communications, Inc., which
was recently acquired by The Wiremold Company.
The Wiremold Interlink Cabling System is a
comprehensive solution for premises wiring using UTP or fiber optic cable. It
includes building entrance and communications closet hardware, wire and cable
management systems, and workstation connectivity.
Test
and Termination Accessories
WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - The Wiremold® Interlink
Cabling System offers test and termination kits. These kits facilitate the
installation and testing of FiberSmart™ products.
The TK Series termination kit features the
QuickTerm solution that allows for connector polishing approximately 2 minutes
after connector termination.
TE Series test kits are available for testing
LANs, and short and long haul WANs, and come complete with launch cables and
mating adapters. This battery-operated equipment allows for 8 hours of field
measurement time.
