Power Over Ethernet offered as part of standard offering
Ottawa, ON – September 10, 2008 - Lumenera Corporation, a leading developer and manufacturer of high performance digital cameras and custom imaging solutions, is now shipping Le series network cameras with Power over Ethernet (PoE) as a standard configuration.
Lumenera’s offering is fully compliant with the IEEE 802.3af specifications for either power mode A or B, making it compatible with a wide array of commercial off-the-shelf network switches and power injectors. PoE will enable users to run power to their device via a 10/100baseT Ethernet cable, significantly lowering installation costs and services with reduced cable runs. This newest functionality will not affect camera cost or performance.
[an error occurred while processing this directive] The external power supply requirement for Le series cameras will change to 12VDC. Li series intelligent cameras will continue to support PoE or 24VDC external power. (Le259, Le11059 and their variants are excluded).
