(TORONTO, ON - September 7, 2011) Willis Energy Services has experience and expertise in the design, development and delivery of conservation and demand management programs and technical capabilities to identify, investigate, and implement energy saving projects.

With offices in British Columbia and Ontario, Willis conducts business coast-to-coast in Canada, several states in the U.S., and is involved in many energy-related projects overseas. Willis has further solidified its Conservation and Demand Management (CDM) services in Ontario with the completion of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with BOMA Toronto.

Parminder Sandhu, Managing Director, Willis Energy Services stated, "The MOU means the important work accomplished by the BOMA Conservation and Demand Management (CDM) Program will continue to evolve." The BOMA CDM Program, which dealt with buildings over 25,000 square feet, expired at the end of 2010. New CDM programs for commercial customers are now being offered under the provincially mandated Local Distribution Company (LDC) energy conservation programs.

[an error occurred while processing this directive] To ensure the intellectual capital and expertise developed by the BOMA CDM Program remains intact, Willis Energy Services hired the BOMA CDM operations team.   Bala Gnanam, Nishat Afrin and Chris Gans bring in-depth managerial and technical expertise on CDM. Before moving to Willis, the BOMA CDM operations team managed all aspects of the program that provided incentive funds towards the capital cost of projects thereby reducing electricity use in large buildings.

Chris Conway, President and Chief Staff Officer of BOMA Toronto observed, "BOMA Toronto is very proud of the expertise and accomplishment of the former staff members. They contributed so much to raising the awareness of energy conservation in Toronto's commercial buildings. We are grateful that the expertise and knowledge will continue to be accessible to members."

Mr. Sandhu concluded, "Energy efficiency and conservation provide the lowest cost approach to meeting Ontario's energy needs and creating local green jobs. We are proud to build these   professional capabilities and continue to support BOMA members in energy savings and sustainability."

Willis Energy Services and BOMA Toronto have a common desire to collaborate by sharing, building relationships, and helping promote a culture of energy conservation and energy management in the commercial real estate sector in Ontario.
