12th Annual BACnet® Interoperability Workshop Registration Open
Atlanta,
GA – (August 15, 2011) - BACnet® International today announced that
PlugFest 2011, the industry’s foremost workshop for companies to
perform interoperability testing for their BACnet® enabled solutions,
will take place November 15th to 17th in Atlanta, GA. As the 12th
annual interoperability workshop, the event is expected to be the
largest to date - with participation from over 100 engineers from over
30 different companies, representing 6 different countries.
PlugFest 2011 will permit vendors to test their BACnet products in a
neutral and friendly environment with BACnet devices from other
vendors. Previous events have demonstrated the effectiveness of
PlugFest where engineers improved their BACnet implementations and
testing methods. More information about PlugFest 2011, including vendor
applications, registration details, requests for topics and other
logistics, can be found at: http://www.bacnetinternational.org/plugfest
“Integrated BACnet system reliability and performance is best achieved
through rigorous testing by device manufacturers.” said Duffy O’Craven,
BTL Manager. He added, “There is no better way to learn what you have
mistakenly assumed everyone does the same, than at a BACnet PlugFest.
Better at PlugFest, with engineers and tools at hand, than via irate
calls from the field.””
Andy McMillan, President of BACnet International and General Manager of
Philips Teletrol, commented on PlugFest 2011, “By creating a
co-operative event for vendors to test and improve product
interoperability, we believe everyone wins. Participating vendors get
more innovative solutions in the hands of their customers more quickly,
and BACnet® International and its members improve their testing
methods.” Mr. McMillan added, “BACnet believes that open, standard
protocols are a best practice to deliver the integrated solutions
demanded by building professionals. The PlugFest event will help
industry participants develop interoperable products that share data
and create high performance systems.”
