ULI Greenprint Center for Building Performance Announces Five New Members - Blackrock, Grosvenor, Silverstein Properties, Thomas Properties Group, and UDR, Inc., and Three New Innovation Partners - Cisco, Johnson Controls and Lutron

WASHINGTON (September 10, 2012) -- The Urban Land Institute (ULI) Greenprint Center for Building Performance, a worldwide alliance of leading real estate owners, investors and financial institutions committed to reducing carbon emissions across the global property industry, has announced the addition of five new members and three innovation partners.

Internationally recognized real estate companies BlackRock, Grosvenor, Silverstein Properties, Thomas Properties Group, and UDR, Inc. have joined the center.

"Grosvenor has a vested interest in the future shape of the urban landscape and we are committed to helping create and manage attractive, vibrant and environmentally sustainable cities in which people choose to live and work,” said Mark Preston, Chief Executive Officer of the Grosvenor Group. “Becoming a member of the ULI Greenprint Center was therefore a natural decision for us, and we would encourage others to join so that we can continue to improve the accuracy and relevancy of benchmarking, strengthening the environmental performance of the built environment."

Major technology companies Cisco, Johnson Controls and Lutron have joined the center’s Innovation Roundtable, which promotes increased awareness of innovative technologies and best operating practices to reduce energy and carbon emissions.

"Despite budget constrains in the real estate industry, Greenprint has empowered its partners to improve efficiency by providing tools, metrics and insights that have been critical for Cisco customers, especially building owners and their operation managers,” said Rick Huijbregts, Vice President, Industry and Business Transformation for Cisco Canada. “Greenprint continually proves its value through its focus on improving the transformational power of information and communications technology, alongside energy efficiency improvements. Ultimately, the goal is simple: to achieve optimal building performance."

The new Greenprint members join existing members Aetos Capital; AvalonBay; Beacon Capital Partners; Blackstone Group; Equity Office Properties; GE Capital Real Estate; GLL Real Estate Partners; Hines; Jones Lang LaSalle; LaSalle Investment Management; Paramount Group; PATRIZIA Immobilien; Prologis; Prudential Real Estate Investors; RREEF, a member of the Deutsche Bank Group; Sonae Sierra; and TIAA-CREF.
