The Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory is convening expert meetings of two International Energy Agency projects, Annex 58 and Annex 60. As part of this event, there will be a public series of seminars with experts from energy policies, building design and energy simulation. Presentations and discussion will evolve around the intersection of:

•    energy policies in Europe and California, and associated needs for performance characterization during design and operation,
•    reliable building energy performance characterisation based on full scale dynamic measurements as conducted within IEA EBC Annex 58,
•    new generation computational tools for buildings and community energy systems developed within IEA EBC Annex 60, and
•    the impact of occupancy behavior on energy use, as conducted within IEA EBC Annex 66.
