2000 – John Petze, VP of Product Development Andover Controls Corporation
Ethernet is the information connectivity utility, and this makes Ethernet running TCP/IP the protocol to bet on for open systems going forward.
2004 – John Petze, President & CEO, Tridium, Inc.
Mr. Petze has over 20 years of experience in the facilities automation industry, having served in a variety of senior technical and management positions with manufacturers of automation hardware and software. He is a cum laude graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Mass., an associate member of ASHRAE, a member of the Association of Energy Engineers, and a Certified Energy Manager. He is a frequent speaker at industry trade events and has authored numerous technical papers and articles for industry publications.
2006 – Acquisition of Tridium by Honeywell

Petze / Petock: Honeywell made the investment because it believes in our technology, people and business potential. The company believes in the vision and technology that has been guiding Tridium for the past 10 years. With Honeywell, we are in a good position to accelerate our vision and expand our growth. Furthermore, there are significant opportunities to implement the Niagara Framework and our technology across several lines of businesses within Honeywell’s operating units.
2010 – John Petze. Former CEO of Tridium joins a new software startup www.skyfoundry.com focused on analytics.
John Petze, C.E.M., has over 25 years of experience in building automation, energy management, and M2M, having served in senior-level positions for manufacturers of hardware and software products including Andover Controls, Tridium, and Cisco Systems. At SkyFoundry (www.skyfoundry.com) he joins Brian Frank, co-founder and chief architect of Tridium’s Niagara Framework, as they look to bring the next generation of information analytics to the “Internet of Things”.
2012 – How It Came About: Haystack Connect started from discussions between numerous SI’s and vendors over the course of 2012 who felt that there was a need for a different type of event focused specifically on the people implementing systems and driving new solutions for facility owners.

John Petze, C.E.M., is a partner in SkyFoundry, the developers of SkySpark™, an analytics platform for building, energy, and equipment data. John is one of the founding volunteers of the Project-haystack.org initiative. John has over 25 years of experience in building automation, energy management, and M2M, having served in senior-level positions for manufacturers of hardware and software products. At SkyFoundry he rejoins Brian Frank, co-founder and chief architect of Tridium’s Niagara Framework, as they look to bring the next generation of information analytics to the “Internet of Things”.
