There comes a time in everyone’s journey when we stop and reflect. Why am I reflecting? Because everything we do in BAS is changing, AGAIN (Pneumatic to DDC to IP). We are leaving the comfortable knowledge of serial networked devices for the unknown world of IP internet connected devices, and with that, our businesses will need to evolve.
When we started putting in DDC Systems (30 years ago) it was hard, jobs were a mess, products did not work, some products that we needed didn’t exist. Our mission to make it work, lower costs, and increase results has worked for years.
With the dawn of these new IP products the mission is starting all over again.
TODAY we have it easy, best practices have been established, products and software work, and we can easily estimate our costs. TOMMORROW – DDC is gone, IP is here…… IP is DIFFERENT, its one million times more complicated, adds new huge cyber security risks, exposes our industry to the Internet, and we have to figure it out – because TOMMORROW IS NOW – TODAY!!!!
Our mission for Controls-Con this year is to help you get a jump on the next generation of IP, Cloud Connected, Building Control Systems. It’s like we hit the reset button on all the BAS products we use. The advent of the new technology will redefine best practices quickly, costs for services will go down, value will go up, and new products and services will enter the market, just like when we went from Pneumatic to Serial.
