Madison Heights, MI (8/16/2023) – Cochrane Supply & Engineering announced today that they have entered into a distribution partnership with Detroit-based real estate software company KODE labs. Central to this partnership is the addition of KODE’s Smart Building Cloud application to Cochrane’s offering of innovative building control hardware and software as the BAS industry continues to adopt more cloud-based solutions.
KODE’s vendor-agnostic, Smart Building OS will serve as the centralized data platform that integrates all BAS, other IoT devices, and any other systems or softwares within the built environment, into one single pane of glass, allowing for real-time data flow between various systems to best optimize building operations.

Typically, many properties use on-site servers and platforms to control IoT devices, HVAC systems, and other building services. While these setups are generally secure, they can hinder efficiency improvements by constraining communication between different systems, which is crucial for implementing real-time adjustments.
By hosting their platform in the cloud, KODE’s clients can access a building’s integrated services from anywhere to quickly visualize, schedule, and coordinate in real time, enabling automated smart scheduling, predictive analysis, and energy optimizations.
Founded in Detroit in 2017, KODE labs has grown to support 1,500+ buildings online across 4 continents, and boasts over 30+ Channel Partners. Recently, KODE Labs was selected as the Best Tech Innovation in Intelligent Buildings at Realcomm IBcon 2023 and a Tech Pioneer for the Class of 2023 by the World Economic Forum.
“Cochrane Supply has been a part of our journey since inception. They’ve been a big supporter and provided invaluable feedback along the way. Solidifying our partnership is a natural next step and we couldn’t be more excited to have one of the World’s best and biggest distributors of smart building solutions, offer KODE products as well,” said Etrit Demaj, Co-Founder of KODE Labs.
Through this partnership, Cochrane Supply is proud to show its support for other Detroit-based companies, as well as demonstrating their commitment to providing the latest in building automation products, services, and training.
“As a fellow Detroit-based company, we’re proud to be a strong supporter of KODE and their journey to revolutionize the industry with their unique and powerful cloud-based solutions,” said Nicole Conklin, Director of Products and Marketing for Cochrane Supply. “We believe that the future of the industry is moving more to the cloud, and KODE is prepared to provide affordable, scalable, and secure cloud-based solutions to the BAS industry.”
