They encompass a holistic approach that prioritizes the well-being of occupants. Join us as we discuss healthy buildings and how they aim to create environments that promote physical, mental, and social health.


Lauren Scott, V.P. Marketing & Sustainability, Acuity Brands


Lauren Scott is the Vice President of Marketing & Sustainability at Acuity Brands’ Intelligent Spaces Group. Scott specializes in translating climate initiatives into meaningful action to deliver on commitments to the building and renewables sectors. Her marketing and communications background is leveraged to promote social and environmental responsibility as an approachable, yet critical part of business operations.


Launched in 2023, Scott also hosts “The Resilience Report”,  a podcast dedicated to highlighting the inspiring work of the leaders paving the way in sustainable business.

Julie Petrone, Global Product Marketing HVAC, ABB


 Julie is a dynamic leader with more than two decades of experience in global marketing, go-to-market strategy, and digital transformation in public and private companies, with proven success in optimizing marketing’s role in the commercial achievements of businesses. 

With a unique mix of high-level B2B and B2C marketing, including IoT, Building Energy Management, Building Automation and Controls, and Smart Power, she is an agile innovator with a track record as an inspiring leader who champions teams and leads brand recognition. 

Julie is a current Board Director and Marketing Vice Chair for the Association for Smarter Homes & Buildings (ASHB) and acted as the Marketing Chair for the Building Intelligence Group (BIG), a national organization dedicated to delivering intelligent commercial building solutions and energy efficiency by helping design and implement advanced building systems with integrated controls. 

She graduated magna cum laude from Cal State University, Bakersfield, with a degree in Marketing Communications and an MFA in Journalism. She also graduated from The Fuqua School of Business with a Master of Business Administration. 

Stephanie Poole, Principal, SES Consulting


Stephanie is a professional engineer with extensive experience in energy efficiency and decarbonization projects, including audits, implementations, commissioning, project management, and strategic planning. A former teacher, she now applies her expertise to develop and deliver energy and decarbonization courses for organizations such as the Canadian Institute for Energy Efficiency (CIET). She is also a contributing editor for AutomatedBuildings.com and sits on the Building Decarbonization Alliance (BDA) expert advisory panel. 

Michael Davis, Senir Director of Business Development, Motorola


Mike Davis is a Senior Director of Business Development at Motorola Solutions, bringing over 28 years of experience in the IOT and Security Technology industry. Starting his career in the U.S. Air Force, he developed a disciplined approach to security that has guided his extensive work in technology. As an entrepreneur, Mike founded eLine Technology, a security manufacturing firm specializing in video and access control, and S3 Reps, a representative agency for high-tech security solutions, establishing a strong presence in the industry. A highly sought-after consultant worldwide, he also served as National Sales Manager for IPVideo Corp, where he helped launch the HALO Smart Sensor across North America. Now, at Motorola Solutions, Mike collaborates closely with system integrators, resellers, and large-scale end-users, shaping smart building infrastructure and advancing Motorola’s vision of connected, secure environments.

Tyler Smith, Vice President, Healthy Buildings, HVAC and Controls, Johnson Controls


Tyler Smith is Vice President, Healthy Buildings, HVAC, and Controls at Johnson Controls. Tyler has spent nearly 20 years with Johnson Controls in roles focused on leveraging building management systems and HVAC equipment to drive important outcomes such as improvements energy efficiency, health, wellness, and productivity. From 2018 to 2020 Tyler led Johnson Controls’ Critical Environments business unit, which designs and manufactures systems for critical spaces such as hospitals and laboratories.

Beginning late 2020, Tyler founded and scaled Johnson Controls’ global Healthy Buildings portfolio, which is focused on helping building owners leverage productivity and financial outcomes associated with operating healthier buildings through improved indoor air quality. In January 2024 Tyler took on an expanded role with additional responsibility for management of the global HVAC and Controls portfolios.

Throughout his career Tyler has managed portfolios and developed commercial strategies for the North American market as well as key global growth markets.

Tyler has an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and an MBA from Emory University.  He resides in suburban Nashville, TN, USA with his wife and two kids.
