The
UK Controls Industry |
[an error occurred while processing this directive]The
Building Control Group of the UK has a great resource online in their Control
Sensor Installation Pocket Book. Download and check it out. I have seen
this type of information provided for a manufacturer or a control contractor
but not at a control organization level. This looks like an excellent method
to improve overall installation standards in the industry. Let me know your thoughts
on this.
Also check out their other
resources on their web site, really good stuff! Anyone for a Building
Controls Group of the Americas? or should we join them and become Building
Controls Group of the World?
Building Controls
Group BCG
is the only organisation catering for the corporate needs of the UK controls
industry in its efforts to maintain the highest standards of product
development and application and customer service. All aspects can now be
addressed in a cohesive, interactive manner. BCG members
are represented on all the relevant European CEN committees and their BSI
counterparts, related to the technologies employed in controls and building
management systems, and in many cases are leading the formulation of standards
in fast evolving fields , such as intersystem communications.

- It is crucial to control and building
management system performance that sensors provide accurate measurement of
controlled variables, but all too often they are located and mounted in
ways which defeat this purpose.
‘Sensor Installation’ is written primarily for engineers and
installers on site, but is also a powerful tool for design and project
engineers to foster energy management and operating economy by ‘getting
it right’ from the outset.

System (BMS) end-users in focusing upon their needs prior to preparing a
