[an error occurred while processing this directive]Computer Based Training, or CBT, is an effective and efficient form of education for most anyone. CBT is simply a CD-ROM that a student can use whenever and wherever they choose. While nothing can replace one-on-one instructor-led training, CBT has many advantages over other training methods, and it is for this reason that BBI has created their line of CBT titles. Consider these benefits:
CBT is available on demand any time and any place chosen by the student. CBT gives students the ability to review material later at the same level of instruction as original training session while reflecting what the student has learned since the last time. CBT incorporates a variety of different learning styles: audio, visual, kinesthetic, etc. CBT provides a consistent level of training presentation quality and content every time it is reviewed. CBT course materials can be updated more quickly than traditional materials, therefore providing the most current information available. CBT takes less time than other methods to teach the same material. CBT is more motivational the pace is geared to the individual, not the slowest learner in the class. CBT is not subject to minimum class sizes there are no cost-effectiveness constraints on a small number of learners. CBT provides an easier, more accurate and immediate assessment of a student's performance/comprehension. According to J.D. Fletcher, Institute for Defense Analysis, CBT provides an average time savings of 31% over instructor-led training while delivering 15-25% increase in achievement levels.
