SILICON ENERGY LAUNCHES NETWORK OF ENTERPRISE ENERGY MANAGEMENT SOLUTION PROVIDERS

Eight network members commit to Silicon Energy's open architecture approach

ALAMEDA, CALIF. - June 9, 1999 - Silicon Energy Corporation, the global leader in Enterprise Energy Management (EEM) solutions, today announced the creation of the Silicon Energy Network, an alliance of leading technology and service providers that have committed to technical compatibility by embracing Silicon Energy's open architecture model. Members of the Network will share individual market knowledge and participate in joint sales and marketing efforts. For customers, the Network will offer greater choice in end-to-end EEM solutions, resulting from the breadth and interoperability of the members' individual product offerings.

EEM solutions encompass everything from negotiating with suppliers and actively managing energy budgets to optimizing operations and maintenance efforts for maximum efficiency. Silicon Energy's open-architecture model for EEM was first employed in the company's EnerscapeTM software platform, the first application to allow enterprise-wide monitoring and control of energy usage.
