Altech Introduces Two New Products

UL Listed Manual Motor Controllers/Miniature Circuit Breakers

(Flemington, NJ) - Altech Corporation is introducing a new line of UL508 Listed and CSA certified Manual Motor Controllers with motor disconnect means. The UL508 listing certifies that complete products have been tested by UL to be used for most common industrial applications. It also enables licensed electricians to use the Manual Motor Controller (MMCs)/ Miniature Circuit Breakers (MCBs) without first obtaining the approval of a UL inspector.

The new MMCs are thermal/ magnetic type manual motor controllers used to protect the wiring and loads of electrical circuits against thermal overload and magnetic short circuit. Applications include AC Across-the-line Motor Starting, AC General Use, AC Resistance, AC Discharge Lamps (Ballast) and AC Incandescent Lamps (Tungsten). Motor Branch Circuit applications include manual motor controller, disconnect means, combination of controller and overload protection and a combination of controller and motor disconnect means.

The new line features six different trip characteristics (B, C, D, E, F, G and Z) available in 1, 2, 3 pole and 1 or 3 pole + neutral configurations. All trip curves offer electrical ratings from 0.3A to 60A/ 480Y/277VAC. UL listed MMCs are intended for general use and can be used in place of UL recognized supplementary protectors.

UL508 Listed busbar power distribution systems are also available for three-phase feed to three pole MMCs or three-phase power distribution to one phase loads. Busbar systems are available in 18 or 25mm2 versions. Electrical ratings are available up to 100A/ 480VAC.

One pole and 1 pole + neutral breakers are currently production and 2 and 3 poles up to 10A will be available in the fall. Free circuit protection catalog features technical drawings, ordering information and diagrams.

New Wire Duct Product Line

(Flemington, NJ) - Altech Corporation's new series of wire ducts provide exceptional wire protection, while retaining wires, facilitating systematic wiring and providing complete electrical insulation.

Aesthetically pleasing designs feature smooth rounded edges, elongated channels and non-slip interlocking covers and channels. Unique wire retention ensures that wires remain in slots when cover is removed, while open slots permit wires to be inserted or removed with terminations attached.

Two design styles are available in either quick release/ lock covers or non-slip interlocking covers. All models are constructed of high impact, rigid PVC material. Unslotted, standard slotted and thin slotted models are available in both series. Interlocking Cover Series features snap-off sidewall fingers to accommodate wire bundles without cutting tools. Sizes range from .59 x .59 in. to 5.91 x 3.94 in., depending upon the series.

Available accessories include fixing lugs, nylon fasteners (in 6mm and 4mm sizes) and wire tie attachments. All models carry the CE mark and are UL and CSA approved. New four-color brochure provides detailed diagrams, technical drawings and ordering information.
