Teletrol Systems Redefines Facility Management Systems For The 21 st Century With The Announcement Of Its New eBuilding Systems Controller

[an error occurred while processing this directive]  Manchester, NH (November 22, 2000)Teletrol Systems Inc., a manufacturer of innovative automation systems for integrated HVAC, lighting, and access control systems, announces the upcoming release of the eBuilding Facility Automation System, which uses open, standard Information Technology (IT) communications protocols to take advantage of internet-based data and connectivity.

Using the BACnet protocol, IT and internet technologies, eBuilding can collect and aggregate data on building occupancy, energy usage and equipment maintenance status from sites around the world, giving building owners and managers an unprecedented tool to better monitor and manage their facilities. “As energy deregulation is ratified around the country, the ability to reduce or defer electrical energy demand based on data available from sites connected to the internet will be vital to control and manage building operating costs. The eBuilding concept is scalable to support different types of services that will save building owners and managers time and money. These services include the ability to review equipment performance over a long period of time and spot trends that indicate that the equipment needs maintenance. Products currently on the market address some of these issues; eBuilding leverages all of the information on the internet to offer services in real time and much more economically,” states company President and controls industry veteran, Joseph Klotz, who advocates eBuilding applications beyond HVAC, including energy aggregation, maintenance management and predictive failure reporting.

eBuilding operators interact with their systems using a familiar web browser interface, eliminating the need for proprietary user interface software. As a result, temperatures, equipment status, power consumption, historical point information, alarms and schedules are all presented in standard web page format. The Teletrol Edifice graphical programming environment mirrors typical HVAC applications for quick, intuitive system setup and programming. eBuilding’s standard Ethernet 10/100 TCP/IP network structure and cabling make installation consistent, quicker, and easier to troubleshoot. eBuilding presents full BACnet compliance to facilitate unlimited integration with other BACnet-based systems and devices. eBuilding can be configured as a BACnet gateway to existing Teletrol Integrator controllers, as well as other manufacturers equipment.

Teletrol will be showing the eBuilding system at the AHR Expo, January 29 – 31st, 2000, in Atlanta, Georgia, at Booth 6100.
