Buffalo Grove, IL - The Staefa MS1800 is an accurate, reliable and easy-to-use building automation system that integrates stand-alone DDC and energy management systems. MS1800, Version 2.0 offers several important enhancements, including the capability to support all current Windows platforms.

The MS1800 V2.0 is suited for a wide range of applications, from smaller sites requiring Windows NT and/or Ethernet capabilities, extending to large campuses with more complex application needs. By using industry standard PCs, engineering time and overall expense is reduced due to the ability to work on multiple screens. With direct connect to Ethernet, true multi-window multitasking capability is provided. The system also reduces the need for specially equipped laptops, therefore maximizing the hardware investment.

Existing MS2000 users upgrading to this release of MS1800 will enjoy site-wide licensing, which allows users the ability to connect to multiple PCs- on site or dialed in from remote locations-without incurring additional licensing costs.

Current MS1800 users requiring direct connect to Ethernet will also want to consider a system upgrade. The MS1800 V2.0 also offers improved communications to third-party devices such as McQuay and Trane equipment.

The open architecture design of the MS1800 allows for system expansion as building requirements change. Stand-alone intelligence and online programming enable the user to review floor plans, change setpoints, monitor and manage alarms and print reports with minimum operator training. The extensive reporting capabilities include standard and custom, or automatic, based on time, event or site.
