Europe's fastest growing integrated building automation company continues global expansion

[an error occurred while processing this directive]MALMÖ, SWEDEN - TAC AB, one of the leading building automation companies in Europe, has finalized the acquisition of CSI Control Systems International Inc.

As one of the largest and most successful U.S.-based building automation companies, CSI provides integrated information, control solutions and energy solutions for commercial, industrial and institutional buildings.

TAC offers building automation solutions, systems and services based on an open standard protocol that provides communications links to all technical functions in a building including environmental control, security and operating equipment. Together, the two companies have installations on all seven continents.

"Our combined experience in the field of building automation and intelligent buildings along with our skilled workforce means TAC is heading for strong growth in the global market," said Arne Frank, CEO of TAC.

The new company will conduct business in the Americas and Asia-Pacific markets as CSI, a subsidiary of TAC, until January 2001 when it will launch new product rollouts and a combined Web site.

Dean Meyer, the new president of TAC Americas, said: "This newly formed company combines all the necessary resources to realize our common goal of open system leadership. Our expanded offering of products and services creates the ultimate solution in integrated building automation with great flexibility in meeting individual end user needs"

Before the CSI acquisition, TAC operated in more than 40 countries with more than 1,000 employees. The new company employs approximately 2,000 people with operations in the Americas, Australia, Asia, the Middle East and Europe.

Since the two companies have combined, projected revenues will double to approximately US$300 million, making TAC the fastest growing global building automation supplier and potentially one of the most profitable automation companies in the world. TAC is owned by EQT, a group of private equity funds, which focuses on emerging companies that exhibit strong growth potential.
