Melink Intelli-Hood Operator for Commercial Kitchen Hoods Booth #5343

The next generation of energy-saving controls for kitchen ventilation systems is now available. As with previous generations, the Melink Intelli-Hood Operator automatically saves fan energy and conditioned air during idle, non-cooking periods by reducing the hood exhaust (and make-up) fan speeds. A temperature and photoelectric sensor monitors the heat and smoke load inside the hood, and a motor speed controller varies the frequency and voltage to standard 3-phase motors.

New features of the Intelli-Hood Operator include a stylish keypad that replaces the light/fan toggle switches on the face of the hood. This keypad also provides enhanced functions such as auto/bypass operation, % speed indication, and set-up keys for programming the minimum and maximum fan speed, etc. Installation is easy with plug-n-play cables that connect to the I/O Processor mounted in an end-cabinet or on top of the hood.

In addition, new patent-pending capabilities are designed into the Intelli-Hood Operator, to optimize not only energy-efficiency, but also kitchen comfort, fire prevention, and indoor air quality. This holistic approach along with its modular design for controlling up to eight hoods in one facility represents one of the most significant advances in kitchen ventilation in many years. Finally, the Intelli-Hood Operator includes state-of-the-art motor controllers manufactured by GE/Fuji Electric. These motor controllers replace the need for conventional magnetic starters and offer the advantages of precision air balancing, soft-starting, variable speed, and direct drive capability - eliminating the belt (weak link).
