Plexus Technology releases LONWORKS® Local Display with LNS^TM Plug-in - Booth 6133A

(ASHRAE Booth 6133A - Atlanta, Georgia - 29th January, 2001) - Plexus Technology Ltd (UK) will launch the LDX-10 Local User Interface providing cost-effective, interoperable, distributed monitoring and control of other LONWORKS® networked devices through a simple user interface. The flush mounted user interface has optional bezel materials and colours, which enables this display to fit into most architects' designs.

The LDX-10 is well suited to the domestic, retail, commercial and hotel markets, and can be adapted to suit any LONWORKS® application that may require a local user interface to allow local monitoring and / or control. Simple 'Menu', 'Arrow' and 'Enter' keys are used to navigate the functions available through the two-line LCD display. The flexibility of the LDX-10 User Interface allows it to be applied to a wide variety of LONWORKS® applications.

Simple configuration is achieved through the LONWORKS® LNS^TM Plug-in. This provides installers with a simple wizard that will dramatically reduce the engineering time currently required to configure most display applications. The LNS^TM plug-in allows you to set-up user-defined menu structures, configure points to be displayed, grant read and/or write access, with password protection to the local display if desired.

Plexus Technology Ltd releases a 'low cost' Java Web Server to connect LONWORKS® devices to the Internet

(ASHRAE Booth 6133A - Atlanta, Georgia - 29th January, 2001) - Plexus Technology Ltd (UK) will release the NSX-10 NETSERVER which enables LONWORKS® applications to have direct Internet access at a price typically associated with dial-up connections. 

The NSX NETSERVER provides seamless, reliable and secure connectivity of LONWORKS® control networks to any corporate IP (Internet Protocol) data network or the Internet. This enables total control of any LONWORKS® device from wherever you maybe in the world and real-time dynamic update of data from the devices connected via a standard Web browser, all at an affordable price. 

As the Internet becomes more accessible to smaller businesses and the home, owners wish to maximise the usage of this data link for multiple applications. The NETSERVER facilitates this need, enabling real-time monitoring and control via the Internet or corporate network for both small and large control applications. 

By combining the power of IP based data networks with control networks, high speed wide area networks which can route LONWORKS® data can be implemented in the smallest facilities. In markets where LONWORKS® technology has been adopted, this is creating wider monitoring and controlling possibilities than have been commercially viable in the past e.g. by using event driven Emails.
