BACnetÒ MANUFACTURERS ASSOCIATION LAUNCHES YEAR-LONG MEMBERSHIP DRIVE

contemporary BOSTON, June 17, 2000, -The BACnet Manufacturers Association (BMA), an organization that encourages the successful use of the BACnet data communications protocol in building automation and control systems through interoperability testing, educational programs and promotional activities, today announced the launch of an intensive year-long membership campaign. BMA members include companies involved in the design, manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of BACnet control equipment.

"Since the BMA was launched this past February at the AHR Expo in Dallas, we've already nearly doubled our membership, just through word of mouth efforts," said Jim Lee, president of BMA and Cimetrics. "By launching this membership initiative, we'd like to further build on BMA's and BACnet's momentum."

BMA members are entitled to participate in working groups, BMA sponsored meetings and seminars, use the BMA logo, receive updates on BACnet Testing Laboratory (BTL) testing procedures, and use the BTL for product compliance and multi-vendor interoperability testing. BMA members also hold voting privileges and are eligible to serve on the board of directors.

The BMA will have a membership booth at the upcoming BACnet Interest Group-North America (BIG-NA)/BMA Annual Conference to be held in State College, Pennsylvania, from October 8-10, 2000, and at the 2001 Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration (AHR) Expo to be held in Atlanta, Georgia.

Current BMA members include Alerton Technologies, Inc., American Auto-Matrix Inc., Automated Logic, Belimo Aircontrols, Cimetrics Inc., Delta Controls, Honeywell, Johnson Controls Inc., Lithonia Lighting, Siemens Building Technologies Inc., Simplex, Teletrol Systems Inc., and Trane/BASD.
