New Insight(R) 3.2 release for APOGEE(TM) offers advanced features

APOGEE system users are now offered the most advanced capabilities to optimize facility performance and expand system openness with the introduction of Insight 3.2, the next generation software from Siemens Building Technologies, Inc.

Insight 3.2 is loaded with new functions to help meet a wider range of user needs, including improved alarming and security, simplified access and greater system openness. Real-time monitoring and control functions allow users to oversee an entire campus while pinpointing every device. Insight's sophisticated system interface, BACnet(TM) and OPC(R) compatibility through a single workstation, simplified scheduling functions, and programming features are all designed to provide the optimum monitoring and control information when and where needed.

An Auto-Logoff security feature allows the user to configure an Insight workstation to automatically logoff after a specified period of inactivity to reduce the potential of unauthorized system access.

The software's new Scheduling features -- direct zone scheduling, sorting and filtering -- increase operational simplicity, time savings and convenience by enabling the user to customize scheduling views to suit individual needs.

Insight 3.2 also features enhanced Alarming functions that allow operators the optimum flexibility in customizing various alarm priority levels, as well as greater awareness while monitoring system conditions. Functions include alarm refresh on restart, priority sounds for alarms, and color printing of point alarms.

Enhanced Diagnostics functions of Insight 3.2, such as PPCL Line Range selection and zone point command values, also allow users greater ease, accuracy and flexibility in identifying system conflicts.

APOGEE's open systems capabilities have also been expanded with Insight 3.2 by the inclusion of a BACnet client and server option. This function allows the operator to seamlessly monitor, command and receive BACnet device information while viewing the operations within the Insight 3.2 System Profile. An OPC server option also allows transmission of real-time APOGEE data to third-party workstations and other OPC applications.

Additional enhancements offered by the new Insight 3.2 version software include the ability to automatically schedule a System Activity report, the capability to create custom icons in System Profile, and improved Help and Documentation for easier navigation and searching.
