PowerNet Software Partners with Abacus Engineered Systems in Commercial Rollout of Advanced Diagnostic Software in the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance Project

[an error occurred while processing this directive]

Natick, MA - - PowerNet Software™ announced its partnership with Abacus Engineered Systems in the Continuous Commissioning Diagnostics Project administered by the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (Alliance). PowerNet, a provider of advanced diagnostic software, and Abacus, a leader in energy performance contracting, will jointly implement and monitor the project to demonstrate the effectiveness of PowerVisor™ in reducing costs, improving comfort, and creating energy savings in the continuous commissioning process.

[an error occurred while processing this directive]The Companies will implement PowerVisor as the advanced diagnostic software of Abacus' Advanced Diagnostic Center ("ADC") to deliver real-time, remote, automated diagnostics in four buildings with varied continuous commissioning integration challenges. The ADC is an enhancement to the performance contracting services currently provided by Abacus, and therefore, will clearly distinguish the effectiveness of PowerVisor's operations, performance and energy diagnostics in the improvement of system performance and energy savings.

The Alliance will validate the effectiveness of PowerVisor and accelerate the adoption of continuous commissioning, based on the expertise and broad experience of Abacus as a performance contractor. In the project, Abacus will create standards for qualified software providers and initiate ongoing professional development for commissioning providers. In conjunction with PowerNet Software, they will establish guidelines and timelines for project implementation, as well as performance benchmarks for the software. These include target values for reduced energy consumption, aggregate building energy performance, comfort levels, and cumulative energy savings. In addition to performing continuous commissioning services, including ongoing data collection and analysis, Abacus will determine estimated energy and non-energy benefits of PowerVisor resulting from the resolution of performance issues revealed by diagnostic analysis.
