PLANO, TX  Lavelle Engineering Technologies, Inc. (LET), Indianapolis, today announced the release of a GeneralDispatch version of the company's On+Site DispatchTM product, which uses a combination of Internet and digital wireless technologies to support integrated real-time dispatching.

The announcement was made by Michael R. Lavelle, President of Lavelle Engineering Technologies, to coincide with a regional meeting of account representatives here for AT&T Wireless Services, a business unit of AT&T (NYSE: T).

The new GeneralDispatch product allows organizations with time sensitive service requirements to customize the software for their specific operations. The product easily customizes for use by organizations which deliver service or products at multiple locations. Applications include delivery services, repair and maintenance contractors, computer and telecom repair services, plumbing and electrical contractors, service technicians operating on a university or business campus, and other delivery-intensive retail and wholesale businesses which can benefit from improved field or fleet productivity.

The new GeneralDispatch release allows companies to configure the software to meet their business practices and information transmission needs. In addition to pre-defined fields which come pre-bundled in the software, the business owner can establish up to eight custom-defined fields.

The GeneralDispatch version of On+Site Dispatch software connects to existing back-office and management software. Users can configure the program though ODBC database connectivity to move records directly into existing software. Management reports from the On+Site Dispatch program can be exported to spreadsheet software and other programs for analysis.

On+Site Dispatch technology operates on several wireless data services, including CDPD Network, which is run by AT&T Wireless, Bell Atlantic Mobility (BAM), and GTE. It also operates on the CDMA wireless networks, the Nextel iDEN Network and the Mobitex Network.

"On+Site Dispatch technology has already been in use for two years in the expedited courier market, where a 30% improvement in dispatcher productivity and driver productivity improvements of 10% to 20% have been reported," Lavelle indicated.

Dispatch productivity is enhanced because the dispatcher can dispatch technicians or delivery personnel without verbal communication, can relay job information in writing, captures all information on the system once it is entered at any location, and allows reporting and monitoring of work in progress.

Lavelle Engineering Technologies provides Internet and digital wireless services for dispatching applications to a variety of markets. Additional information about LET may be found at www.let.com.
