BUILDING AUTOMATION INDUSTRY EXPANDS AS CABA AND IMEI JOIN FORCES

contemporary SAN FRANCISCO, October 19, 2000. At the CABA (Continental Automated Buildings Association) Annual General Meeting, held at Parks Associates' Forum2000, CABA announced a collaborative agreement with IMEI (Instituto Mexicano del Edificio Inteligente).

Both CABA and IMEI are associations dedicated to furthering the development of home and building automation.

Further, there is the common agreement to share information insofar as it will help the home and building automation industry develop.

Richard Buzun, CABA chairman of the Board, said, "This Agreement helps achieve CABA's mandate of being a truly North American Home & Building Automation Association."

"The two organizations will be combining efforts to expand the industry, through conferences and events, publications and Web applications," indicated Ron Zimmer, CABA president and CEO.

Eduardo Espinosa, IMEI president, echoed these comments, saying, "This Agreement is positive for both organizations as every IMEI member automatically becomes a CABA member and IMEI will be represented on the CABA board of directors."

CABA is a not-for-profit industry association that is North America's key source for information, networking and conferences related to home and building automation. Its mission is "to encourage the development, promotion, pursuit and understanding of integrated systems and automation in homes and buildings."

IMEI, Mexico's intelligent buildings institute, is the only non-profit organization dedicated to disseminating the concepts related to the design, construction and operation of intelligent buildings in Mexico. IMEI's primary function is education, and as such, organizes several events each year, on subjects such as telematics, facility maintenance and operation, home offices, domotics and echo architecture.
