eMation Expands DRM System With New Access Portal for Remote Software Administration

Securing Buildings News

Internet Access Capability Eliminates Costly On-site Visits

contemporary Anaheim, CA, October 29, 2001 - eMation, a pioneer of Device Relationship Management (DRM) enterprise software solutions that reduce the costs of field service operations, today announced the availability of eMation DRM Access at the World Conference of the Association For Services Management International (AFSMI). This new application portal expands the eMation DRM Device Relationship Management system to provide secure, Internet-based `desktop sharing' capabilities between service and support specialists and remote computers installed at customers' sites.

The eMation DRM Access Portal extends the remote monitoring and diagnostics capability of the eMation DRM system beyond intelligent devices to include the remote administration of software applications, databases, desktop computers, servers, and operating systems. This new expandability allows service personnel to use the Internet to continuously monitor, and remotely debug, update, and administer software, increasing responsiveness to customer problems and avoiding costly on-site service calls - all without opening holes in corporate network security. The eMation DRM Access Portal provides immediate return-on-investment (ROI) to professional service organizations and it can be deployed in a matter of days.
