Sontay, the field controls and peripheral expert, and Synapsys Solutions, UK leader in developing and supplying innovative communication interfaces for the built environment, have joined forces to create Trend and BACnet interfaces for the SonNet wireless system. Suitable for a range of applications and protocols, SonNet powered by SIP provides system integrators, contractors and consultants with more flexibility on their projects.
The system is ideal for applications in which control of air temperature and ventilation is crucial. This can range from museums and art galleries for the protection of the artefacts, to manufacturing facilities where ventilation must be managed, and of course occupancy comfort in office and public buildings. It is especially important within medical facilities where control of temperature and humidity is vital, particularly in operating theatres.
“This collaboration demonstrates a step forward in the building controls industry as companies are working together to make lives easier for installers and building managers,” says Simon Ward, Business Development Director at Sontay. “The new Trend and BACnet interfaces will increase the Sontay wireless offering and the range of applications it can be used for.”
The new SonNet powered by SIP product offering has been developed to help reduce engineering time and cost and to meet the demand for more information and better energy control. Harvey Roft, Managing Director of Synapsys Solutions, says: “Our SIP interfacing technology is an ideal complement to Sontay’s SonNet; together the systems make it easy to monitor building performance and communicate that information to a central BMS.”

The product developed by the Sontay/Synapsys partnership, used in conjunction with a Trend or BACnet BeMS, help ensure that a building complies with latest Part L2 Building regulations. The coming together of such influential companies in the industry can only create better solutions for the building controls market.
The partnership between Sontay and Synapsys Solutions allows for an
easier installation and the reassurance of an easy connection between
Sontay’s SonNet Wireless Receiver and any BMS.
