WCA CenterStage presents:
What Do We Mean By "IoT"?
Sept 11th 2014, 6:00pm - 8:00pm
Venue: Cadence Design Systems, Bldg 10, 2655 Seely Ave, San Jose, CA
In the past year the terms "IoT" (Internet of Things) and "IoE"
(Internet of Everything) have become the topic of much discussion.
Apple and Google both mentioned it during their large annual
conferences, Intel will feature IoT during this year's IDF, and there
have been several IoT technology challenges (some with substantial
prize money) in the past few months, and standards coalitions are
forming. Yet what do we mean by "IoT" and "IoE"? How do they relate to
"M2M" (Machine to Machine), "CPS" (Cyber-Physical Systems), and
"Pervasive Computing"? This event will convene a panel of experts to
define the technologies and opportunities in this emerging field.
Moderator:
-- Steve Ray, Carnegie Mellon University
Panelists:
-- Jack Guedj, Corporate Vice President, Cadence Design Systems
-- Pavan Singh, Head, IoT (Internet of Things) Verticals Strategy, Cisco
