Control Solutions, Inc

Partners and customers,

It is with great excitement that I share with you a major development in the future of DGLogik and our technology. As you may already know, on June 30, 2016, DGLogik was acquired by Acuity Brands, Inc., North America’s largest provider of lighting and energy management solutions and a significant and growing player in various Internet of Things markets.

Over the past several years, Acuity Brands has been transforming itself from a traditional lighting manufacturer into a $3 billion+ technology company that has made both organic and inorganic investments into state-of-the-art software solutions within the IoT domain. Having been focused on developing an ecosystem of partners to leverage intelligent lighting and building system networks, Acuity Brands is well positioned to deliver a broad range of solutions that will help customers digitize their businesses.

We believe that Acuity’s vision and strategy are very well aligned with the direction of DGLogik. That is why we are pleased to have joined Acuity’s portfolio of holistic IoT solutions and the tremendous growth opportunities it presents for us, our customers and sales partners.

We are confident this acquisition will pave the way for DGLogik to develop more innovative technology, while increasing speed to market with our current and future products. Our whole team is fully committed to continue providing cutting-edge software solutions and support to the intelligent buildings, smart cities and industrial automation industries in parallel with our efforts to advance the world of IoT.

As we move forward with the integration of DGLogik into Acuity Brands, below are answers to a few key questions.

What does this acquisition mean for DGLux5 OEMs?
We value our OEM partners, and we will continue to nurture and grow these relationships through more rapid advancements in our software and enhanced support services. Our flagship product, DGLux5, will continue to mature and our dedicated account executives will continue working closely with our OEM partners to ensure that our software maintains maximum stability and compatibility with OEM partner hardware and software. We will allocate the necessary technical resources and support staff required to build on these relationships.

What does the acquisition mean for DGLux5 Distributors, Resellers and System Integrators?
Assurance that our technology is here and here to stay. Our ideas will now have a solid path to more quickly transform into products and solutions that address existing and future problems of our clients. Distributors, resellers and system integrators have been the backbone of our success. We will continue working together to ensure that, through you, the value of our technology is expertly introduced and the implementation of our technology is skillfully accomplished to ultimately place leading solutions in the hands of all users. Our account representatives will be dedicated to providing support staff and updated marketing and sales material as the material evolves alongside with our technology.

Any changes with DSA?
No. We founded DSA with the goal of democratizing connectivity and are still very much in that frame of mind. Thus, DSA will remain open source and we will continue to play a leading role in driving adoption, evolving the technology and contributing code. The community of developers and consumers, currently consisting of over 400 participants and growing every day, will continue to be the resource for support and enhancements for this cutting-edge IoT Toolkit and Platform. DSA is rapidly gaining more and more support from major technology enterprises and DGLogik will continue to be fully involved. For more information on DSA, please visit www.iot-dsa.org.

Control Solutions, Inc Will DGLogik continue to provide Training & Support?
Training and support services is of utmost importance to us, and we will continue to evolve this function to ensure that the highest quality solutions are being deployed in the most efficient manner. We will be working to enhance training materials, support forums and knowledge sharing. We want to ensure that everyone that uses our products have access to all the needed information.

How about Professional Services?
We will maintain and grow our professional services organization to ensure continued delivery of quality services and solutions to help accelerate our customers’ and partners’ success.

What’s next?
Right now, it is business as usual. Continue to count on your current DGLogik contacts and home office services.  Meanwhile, as part of the Acuity Brands family, we will leverage our new-found scale to expand DGLogik’s go-to-market channels and focus on enhancing current technologies and building new cutting edge products for major IoT verticals. Soon we will be moving to a new facility in Berkeley to accommodate further expansion and add to our capabilities and services.  Everyone is committed to our new home and we look forward to joining forces with our Acuity Brands team members.

It is a very exciting time for DGLogik, Acuity Brands, and our partners and customers. DGLogik and Acuity Brands, together, look forward to accelerating the adoption of IoT and our best-in-class technologies. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly.
