BSRIA and Canadian Government Collaborate To Develop A Smart Building Work Plan
December 2010 -
BSRIA Ltd, owned by BSRIA, a not for profit distributing organization
that represents industry for the "Built Environment", has entered into
a Special Advisory Agreement with PWGSC for the Canadian Government to
develop a Smart Building Work Plan. " The sheer range of our expertise,
gained from over 50 years of experience and research, means we are able
to meet the technical and information needs of all involved in building
services and construction, from consulting engineers, contractors,
manufacturers and building operators to government bodies and
utilities." Said Nigel Anderson, Head of Design and FM Innovation at
BSRIA.
BSRIA plans to engage Manufacturers,
Installers, Solutions Providers, Utilities and Regulatory Energy Bodies
to develop and execute country wide Energy Efficiency Initiatives that
would pilot numerous technologies within Federal Buildings. "There is a
recognition of the potential for significant energy saving in public
buildings that are not being realised department-by-department within
Government today" said Andrew Eastwell, Executive Director for BSRIA,
"We are especially delighted to assist the Canadian Federal Government
to demonstrate the importance of sustainable buildings today and help
them lead industry in this highly volatile area" concluded Andrew
Eastwell.
