Boston, MA  –  Cimetrics, Inc, the leading 3rd party supplier of BACnet software, announced the introduction of a new member to their Eplus series of BACnet interfaces. The B6030 - BACnet/IP to Home Automation Gateway allows one to connect a professional BACnet workstations to "no new wires" Powerline products from companies such as Smarthome, Inc.

Jim Lee (CEO of Cimetrics) says "Anyone who looks at a Smarthome catalog can't help but wonder why these products aren't able to be used in commercial applications.  There is a huge opportunity for system integrators to use the power of a professional BACnet workstation for non-mission critical applications such as lighting, irrigation, remote status indication, occupancy sensing and much more.  And the best part is that these functions can be added by just plugging into the closest power outlet"

The B6030 is sold together with the Smarthome Powerlinc II interface which supports the 2nd generation extended X10 protocol which includes automatic verification of command actions.  Cimetrics will also be supplying selected Smarthome products which are verified compatible and appropriate for commercial applications.

The Cimetrics Eplus series all communicate via an Ethernet data link which is compatible with both Building Automation networks and traditional business IT networks.  A web server is built into each product for browser based setup screens and user screens, both BACnet/IP and the new BACnet Web Services protocols are supported.
