Wireless Lighting and Energy Management Company Quadrupled Revenue in 2010

SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 19, 2011 – Adura Technologies, a leading provider of wireless  lighting and energy management systems for buildings, today announced that it has consolidated its facilities and moved to larger quarters in San Francisco in anticipation of increased business growth this year.

The six-year-old company and its 35 employees are now located in more than 15,000 square feet at 22 Fourth St.  Adura outgrew its original location at 28 Second St. and added a second site at 101 Second St. last year.

“Adura Technologies grew revenues four-fold in 2010 over the previous year,” said Andy Wheeler, Adura’s CEO. “Because we expect continued growth this year, we have consolidated and expanded our operations to meet our needs.  We also expect added synergies from having research and engineering occupying the same space with marketing and administration.”

Adura provides wireless lighting and energy controls for the retrofit, remodel and new construction building industry.  Lighting represents one-third or more of the total energy use in most commercial buildings.  Adura’s wireless management platform typically results in savings of 40 to 60 percent.  In addition, it can be installed at a fraction of the cost and disruption of conventional retrofits.

In the U.S., there is approximately 80 billion square feet of existing commercial real estate, but less than 2 percent takes advantage of distributed controls to save energy and reduce costs and carbon emissions.  Commercial lighting alone costs building users approximately $30 billion a year, about half of which could be saved by more efficient controls.

About Adura Technologies

Adura® Technologies is a clean energy technology company, applying low-power wireless mesh networking to the lighting controls and energy management markets. The company designs, manufactures and commissions energy management solutions for its customers.  Adura’s mission is to provide cost-effective solutions for the retrofit, remodel and new construction markets so that building owners, tenants and facility managers can implement energy efficiency and load curtailment strategies that help reduce their operating costs and their carbon footprint. Adura is backed by NGEN Partners, a pioneering investor in the clean tech sector; VantagePoint Venture Partners, a global clean tech investor, and Claremont Creek Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm.
