Sensaphone Introduces the Stratus EMS Remote Monitoring System for HVAC Environments and Equipment

ASTON, Pa., January 7, 2019 – Sensaphone will introduce its latest environmental monitoring system, the cloud-based, rack-mounted Stratus EMS, at the 2019 AHR Expo in Hall C, Booth C5124. The Stratus EMS is ideal for HVAC professionals because it provides real-time status of all monitored equipment and environmental conditions from a smartphone, tablet or computer.

The Stratus EMS can monitor up to 64 Modbus registers and 12 universal digital or analog inputs for HVAC equipment, boilers, chillers, refrigeration and cold storage units. The system can monitor virtually any critical condition including temperature from -109 °F to 168 °F (-85 °C to 76 °C), humidity, pressure, pH, conductivity, power or equipment failure, vibration and water leakage. Because it supports Modbus RTU/485 and Modbus TCP, the Stratus EMS can read data from building automation and uninterruptible power supply systems.

The user-friendly system stores sensor data in the cloud so operators can change settings, disable alarms and readjust temperature limits from the mobile app or website. When a sensor detects a reading that goes outside of the pre-set range, the Stratus EMS immediately notifies designated personnel via text message, email or phone call. The Stratus EMS constantly communicates a signal to the Sensaphone cloud to validate its online status. If communication is interrupted, the system sends an alert to users indicating that internet connection is lost.

Because the 4-20 mA inputs are self-powered, the system does not need an additional power supply. Battery back-up lasts up to 30 hours.

contemporary The Stratus EMS will soon be available with an optional rack-mounted LCD that displays data onsite and a cellular version for use where internet connection is unavailable or when the system cannot be used on the same network as the equipment it is monitoring.
