Then, ISA's newest training course is just what you need:

Fundamentals of ISA-100.11a
Developed by the ISA100 Wireless Compliance Institute
The ISA-100.11a, Wireless Systems for Industrial Automation: Process Control and Related Applications, standard is an open framework for wireless sensors and actuators targeted at industrial environments. Target applications include process monitoring, equipment monitoring, and some types of control.

This short course will brief users and suppliers on a broad range of technical topics related to ISA-100.11a in sessions led by actual designers of the standard. This course is intended for product designers and technically sophisticated users who would benefit from an introduction to the technical design principles underlying the ISA-100.11a standard.

Students will be introduced to the key concepts underlying ISA-100.11a, especially related to reliability, scalability, openness, security, deployment, and development tools. Following this course, students should be able to start working with their real-world projects: evaluating, developing, and applying ISA-100.11a technology.

You Will Be Able To:

•    Identify the key technical concepts underlying the ISA-100.11a. standard, especially as they relate to reliability, scalability, openness, security, and deployment
•    Communicate the latest trends in industrial wireless technology
•    Effectively evaluate products and solutions that incorporate industrial wireless technology
•    Identify appropriate early applications for industrial wireless sensors and actuators
•    Begin to develop and/or deploy ISA-100.11a technology

You Will Cover:

•    Introduction to ISA100
•    Design Principles
•    Stack and Object Model
