May 23, 2012 4Site Press - JPX Media Group announced the winners and finalists of THE 2012 INTERNATIONAL BOOK AWARDS (IBA) on May 23, 2012. Over 300 winners and finalists were announced in over 100 categories covering print, e-books and audio books. Awards were presented for titles published in 2010, 2011 and 2012. The International Book Awards honor  knowledge, creativity, wisdom & global cooperation through the written word.

Jeffrey Keen, President and CEO of JPX Media Group, said this year’s contest yielded a large number of entries from authors and publishers around the world, which were then narrowed down to the final results.

Makers of the Environment: Building Resilience Into Our World One Model at a Time, is the Winner of the Environment: Green/Alternative Energy/Conservation category in the 3rd Annual International Book Awards.

Written by Finith Jernigan, of Salisbury, Maryland and published by 4Site Press, Makers of theEnvironment focuses on the possibilities and design futures for where technology can lead society and how each of us can prepare ourselves for tomorrow. Makers features one of the first prototypes for integrating a print book with the web to model the inner workings of building information modeling for readers. The concept makes complex technology and systems understandable for the less technically oriented reader.

Nigel Davies, of the Evolve Consultancy in London says of Makers: “Instead of a work of dry technical theories, Finith manages to exemplify concepts clearly and with real application. Finith has a wealth of knowledge to share and shares it very well. The “almost reality” style is so well written and so close to what we could, and should, be doing with our information models, that I was wondering if I’d missed out on some major changes in the industry. At least with this book, you’ll be in a strong position to play catch-up. For once a technical business book is worth adding to your night time reading list.

contemporary ”Finith Jernigan also wrote the Axiom award winning, BIG BIM little bim - The Practical Approach to Building Information Modeling, the first book to demystify the way that new processes in the built environment can increase the power of small organizations. The book helps people to understand the predictive power of integrated processes.

Keen says of the awards, “The 2012 results represent a phenomenal mix of books from a wide array of publishers throughout the world. With a full publicity and marketing campaign promoting the results of IBA, this year’s winners and finalists will gain additional media coverage for the summer season.

”Keen adds, “IBA’s success begins with the enthusiastic participation of authors and publishers and continues with our distinguished panel of industry judges who bring to the table their extensive editorial, PR, marketing, and design expertise.”
