MultiLayer Coating Technologies Selects Veolia Energy to Manage On-Site Plant Operations

Veolia Energy is providing thermal energy, O&M, metering, technical, and safety services to MultiLayer Coating Technologies’ development facility for renewable energy products

New Bedford, MA - November 21, 2008 — Veolia Energy North America, a leader in sustainable energy services and facility operations and management solutions, is pleased to announce that it has entered into an agreement with MultiLayer Coating Technologies, LLC (MCT) to manage an on-site thermal energy plant at MCT’s newly acquired manufacturing facility in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Veolia Energy will also be providing energy procurement services to MCT.

“In today’s market, industrial manufacturers are seeking to leverage every opportunity they can to improve energy efficiency and conservation efforts,” said Bill DiCroce, SVP of Veolia Energy’s East Region. “We are pleased to partner with MultiLayer Coating Technologies in this important effort and to assume responsibility for managing their full suite of energy needs.”

Veolia Energy will provide a wide range of services, including:

* oversight of the heating, steam, process
chilling and power generation at the plant;
* management of operations and maintenance
services;
* metering and technical services; and,
* safety management.

[an error occurred while processing this directive] MultiLayer Coating Technologies, LLC (MCT) was formed through the purchase of Polaroid Corporation’s advanced coating technologies and facilities in 2006. In 2008, Konarka Technologies entered into a long term lease agreement with MCT to utilize the site for its own manufacturing process of renewable energy products. In addition to a state of the art development and production facility, MCT maintains additional adjacent office and manufacturing space that will also be serviced by the central thermal energy plant.
