FRAMINGHAM, MA – IDG World Expo, the leading producer of world-class tradeshows, conferences and events for technology markets, and FuelDog Events, a developer of tradeshow concepts and solutions, today announced that the wireless sensor networking industry came together at the industry’s first solutions-based event, Wireless Sensing Solutions™. The powerful wireless sensor networking technology available today – combined with the existing and potential applications showcased at the event – provided attendees with a path to a solution set that had previously not been available in the marketplace.

The event, held September 21-22 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois, featured exhibits of and presentations about the latest wireless sensor network deployments by the leading industry OEMs and systems integrators. Wireless Sensing Solutions is the only event that has showcased successful implementations; more importantly, it focused on the pathway which will enable successful implementations in the short-term.

The conference gathered key constituencies in such areas as industrial and building automation, defense and homeland security, municipal applications, supply chain and health care and provided valuable insight about the vendors, applications and standards driving the future of wireless sensor networking marketplace.

contemporary Presentations from industry leading systems integrators such as Invensys, Teng Associates and others helped to encourage attendees about the growth possibilities and validity of this market.  Within the Wireless Sensing Solutions exhibitor showcase, developers of wireless sensing solutions gathered to demonstrate the newest technology, such as a product line introduced at the conference by Point Six Wireless that includes temperature, AMR pulse counter, humidity, thermistor, light, vibration and motion sensors, as well as, analog and digital I/O modules. Other companies showcasing solutions included Millennial Net, Dust Networks, Sensicast and EnOcean, among others. Industry alliance groups at the event included ZigBee Alliance, WINA, CABA and China Supply Chain Council.

In the upcoming months, IDG World Expo will be making available an interactive Web portal for the community featuring continued discussions, latest trends, a series of industry-related Webcasts, research and valuable resources. The next Wireless Sensing Solutions conference is scheduled to take place in September 2005. For more information on the event, visit www.wssconference.com.
