Our Mission - To be the Catalysis / Harbinger of
The IoT Future of Building Automation |
Founder, Owner, Publisher AutomatedBuildings.com

We felt compelled to update our mission statement in this time of incredible change.
It is interesting
that our mission statement has been adjusted several times since 1999,
but we still support all our previous mission statements.

Our Mission - To be the Catalysis / Harbinger of The IoT Future of Building Automation as set January 2017
- To inform our readers of the future building automation which will be a
full embrace of IoT. Systems will be smarter, self-learning, edgy,
innovative, and sophisticated. They will automatically configure and
integrate new equipment so they can optimize themselves, self-manage
and self-heal while reinventing purposeful, productive, desirable
buildings and accommodations.
-
Help create satisfaction and productivity as the new measured
variables. Create a change in thinking and attitudes that focuses on
these new MV including the budgets to support and the resources to
execute it.
-
Help evolve new performance metrics creating measured variables from
the data from our buildings such as well-being, satisfaction, stress,
innovation and contribution to corporate purpose while maintaining, of
course, comfort and energy efficiency.
- Create industry mashups with other rapidly evolving industry such as
the lighting LED revolution bringing us the new tools to control and
allow a closer personal relationship with satisfaction via light; it's
color, it's art and amazing effects on the new performance metrics.
-
Nurture the self-learning edge revolution which has the potential to
see every lighting fixture and air conditioning outlet becoming a
self-learning device with automated interaction from occupant's mobile
device.
-
Inform our readers of evolving open software that is rapidly creating
the function, form, and focus on these self-learning edge devices,
which will lead to the development of what has never before been built.
-
To help grow our only resource/asset our people younger, by reaching
out to youth with messages about our vibrant, vital and rewarding
industry. To achieve a successful transition to our IoT future we
need to embrace the new folks of the millennium while retreading old
existing minds. As we build our people assets in our companies, our
value as an industry will increase.
