Sinclair: I understand that Lynxspring is hosting the 2017 Lynxspring Exchange and Technology Showcase October 1-3. Tell me about it?
Petock: In 2015 we held the inaugural Lynxspring Exchange. With the continued advances in building automation systems, the new generation of IoT devices and equipment, and the new ways value is being driven today; we decided to hold it again this year. The Exchange is a 2-1/2-day educational conference and technology showcase that will bring together the industry ecosystem of professionals and practitioners, and our partners of system integrators, OEMs and end users to exchange, discuss, collaborate, and learn about today’s systems and solutions for operating facilities smarter, safer, securely, efficiently and at peak performance levels.
Sinclair: Where is it taking place?
Petock: The Hyatt
Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Gainey Ranch. If you have never
been to Scottsdale, this is the perfect time of year to go. It is
wonderful. Being at this magnificent resort will just add to the
Lynxspring Exchange experience.
Sinclair: Can you share some of the sessions and subjects that will be discussed?
Petock: The content and
sessions are still coming together. There are several industry
presenters scheduled to present along with folks from Lynxspring. We
will have sessions that reflect the business side, as well as the
technology side. As of now, some of the business sessions include
presentations on the Edge; OT and IT, Filling the Gap; IoT; Traditional
Building Automation – What’s Driving the Future; Securing our
Facilities in Today’s Cyber World; Intelligent Buildings in the Digital
Age, Discussion and Perspectives from Consultants; and what’s going on
with the Energy Climate. On the technical side, some sessions address
Cabling for the Smart Building; Niagara Framework®, Onyxx® and JENEsys®
Edge™ Best Practices; the IoT Incubator; one we are calling “Think
Inside the Box,” and much more. In addition, we have Keynote
Speakers who will address IoT, the Evolution and Disruption in Our
Industry and answer several questions we all need to know.
Sinclair: During our conversation, you mentioned a “Track within a Track”? Tell me about this?
Petock: Sure. Data and
analytics have changed the way companies in every industry do business
and manage performance, including ours. Access to this data, combined
with analytics, has opened new opportunities for the creation of new
value. As such, we felt it important to have several sessions and
content that address these subjects. So, we created a “Track within a
Track,” where we have put together a variety of content about data and
analytics. The “Track within a Track” on Data and Analytics is being
sponsored by Connexx Energy, SkyFoundry and Project Haystack.

Petock: In addition to the three I just mentioned, we have other sponsors including Tridium, KMC, Viconics, eSight Energy, Belimo, Connect Air, Eagle Technology, IoTium, Windy City Wire, ACI, Blue Ridge Technologies, BidTracer and Functional Devices and more. We also have several special sponsors including Intelligent Buildings, Realcomm, CABA, Project Haystack, ControlTrends, and automatedbuildings.com.
Sinclair: Are there still opportunities available to participate?
Petock: Yes, contact me or go to the Lynxspring Exchange website for additional information.
Sinclair: Is the Lynxspring Exchange open to anyone to attend?
Petock: Absolutely. Since we support “open” technology and solutions, the Lynxspring Exchange and Technology Showcase is an open event, and we welcome anyone who would like to attend.
Sinclair: Where can folks find more information?
Petock: At the Lynxspring Exchange website, www.lynxspringexchange.com and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PkCwKsQpEfQ&feature=youtu.be
