Every month there is a blizzard of information contained in the emails and newsletters that cross my desk on their way to AutomatedBuildings.com. Some of this information is not in the form of any type of content we can publish but I feel I should share with you these snippets, blog bits, Tweets, LinkedIn posts, and URL links that are about to fall off my desktop.
On a daily basis I tweet as @Ken_Sinclair https://twitter.com/Ken_Sinclair
I have a few moments to share ;-) https://twitter.com/Ken_Sinclair/moments
I tweet links I think will be of interest and part of our rapid industry evolution.
Also, http://automatedbuildings.com/ maintains this LinkedIn online blog for the magazine, a great place to interact.
I also write a column twice a month for Contractor Mag http://www.contractormag.com/author/Ken-Sinclair
And a column once a month for facilitiesnet Home of Building Operating Management & Facility Maintenance Decisions Magazines

ES Roundtable: Is AI a Tangible Asset in the Built Environment? Today, the Internet of Things (IoT), big data, and now artificial/automated/altered intelligence are blessing buildings with brains. Commercial structures now boast the ability to recognize, interpret, adapt, and respond. Facilities can program themselves to function at peak efficiency, self-correct processes that have deviated from the norm, communicate with other mechanical systems, collect endless amounts of data, and make informed decisions, all in the name of enhancing the occupant experience. Actions can be triggered without human intervention. Software platforms can be programmed to deliver the optimal thermal load depending on occupancy. But is AI tangible? How and when should an engineering firm invest in AI? What impact is it expected to have on the design process and project delivery? Engineered Systems asked seven industry professionals these questions and more for this “Thought Leaders on AI in Buildings” roundtable discussion. Here’s what they had to say.

First wave of research is part of the Living Standard initiative, which seeks to raise the quality of life for people around the world through research and storytelling Washington, D.C. – (April 8, 2019) – As part of its Living Standard initiative, today, the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) released a new U.S. public research report titled Standard Issue that sets out to better gauge how the public feels about issues at the core of the green building community’s mission: sustainability, green buildings and the environment. The report takes a closer look at Americans’ views on environmental issues and how the green building industry can be better positioned as a global solution. As part of the report, USGBC commissioned ClearPath Strategies, a global public opinion research company, to conduct qualitative and quantitative research across five regions of the U.S.
